Men. Men must do better; be better. Practically from birth (as if it’s our birthright) we are taught to ogle, to crave, to lust after, to covet, to want, to feel as if our sole existence is to acquire, to appropriate, to take, to conquer, to exert our power over, to man up, to take control, to be on top. we must evolve, relearn, redirect, rethink or perhaps, un-think. A woman’s body does not exist for our taking, our entertainment, our cravings.
Like our mothers, our sisters, our aunts, our daughters and our best friends, a woman is a human. A person entitled to respect, safety and the control of her own body and soul. She is not a commodity. Not a plaything. Not a trinket to wear around our necks or shiny swag that raises our net worth or enhances our street cred. She is not our paper doll to dress up and do as we please. I would say that a woman must be treated as an equal; but that may actually be an insult to women. A real, strong-willed, empowered woman has out-evolved most of us men. Left us in our own dust.
We men must do better; be better.
~One man, still evolving.
